Ross County made an uninspired start to their First Division campaign as they were held to a goalless draw by Morton.
After a cagey opening period in which the sides battled for the initiative without creating any clear-cut chances, Paul Di Giacomo almost put Morton ahead.
Picking the ball up 35 yards from goal, he unleashed a superb effort only to be thwarted by an excellent Michael Fraser save.
Grant Evans headed narrowly wide from the resulting corner, with the visitors continuing to pile on the pressure prior to half-time.
But they were unable to break the deadlock, and after the interval it was a different story as the home side came back into the game.
Gary Miller had the best opportunity with nine minutes remaining but he was unable to beat Colin Stewart as the spoils were shared.
