Division Two's top scorer last season has turned down a move to Morton, eschewing full-time play in favour of keeping his job and remaining at Shielfield Park. The player reports that he's enjoying his football with the Borderers and thus rejected the move to Cappielow.
The revelation will no doubt please Berwick fans eager to hold onto their main source of firepower, but it will cause dismay for both boards. Berwick will no doubt miss the transfer money, rumoured to be in the region of £25,000, and Morton's board and management team will regard it as another disappointing "nearly" transfer to join the many others that fell through over the summer.
