Alan Mahood, the former Morton midfielder, is one of those players perenially linked with a return to one of his two favourite teams (the other being Kilmarnock, whom he departed from this summer.) However, this time, the rumours may have a bit of substance in them.
Jim McInally has made no secret of the fact that he's keen to add to his squad, and some midfield cover must be fairly high up his shopping list. Factor into that his attendance at a St. Johnstone reserve game last week (see linked article), and Mahood may well be the guy he had his eye on.
It is rumoured that Mahood has once before sought to return to Cappielow, but his advances were rejected at the time. Perhaps now there is room for the aging yet effective midfielder in the Morton setup.
