Morton wait on duo
League leaders Morton will give Craig Reid and Mark McLaughlin until the last minute to prove their fitness for the clash with closest challengers Partick at Cappielow.
McLaughlin has a groin injury and Reid has injured a knee and a late check will determine if they join leg-break victim Steven Stirling in missing out or team up with fit-again Archie Campbell in manager Allan Moore's squad.
Moore said: "Craig and Mark have done some light training and if one of them makes it it would be a bonus. I may have to settle for that.
"There is a long way to go but this game has significance. If we win the destiny of the title is in our hands as opposed to hoping Thistle drop points in their games in hand."
Partick's interim manager Alan Archibald has a selection problem of the right kind as Steven Lawless has returned from a fractured cheekbone to give him a full squad to choose from.
Archibald has seen his previous two attempts to lead Thistle in place of former boss Jackie McNamara postponed and he is now keenly waiting for the first whistle at Cappielow.
"I have a nice dilemma to solve over team selection," said Archibald. "And whatever side I send out know already that this is a big game.
"I will not need to do much of a team talk and while nothing will be decided it would be great to get our first win of the season over Morton."
