Morton V Falkirk at Cappielow Park - Match Preview

Moore waits on MacDonald

Morton manager Allan Moore is keeping his fingers crossed striker Peter MacDonald comes through a Saturday morning fitness test on an injured hip to face Falkirk.

Moore is short in defence with Willie Dyer ruled out with a dislocated shoulder and Mark McLaughlin set to be absent due to a knee injury.

Craig Reid and Thomas O'Ware are also carrying knocks and face late checks.

Moore said: "I hope Peter makes it as that would help us play the game in Falkirk's half as I do not know what my defence will be yet.

"Whatever happens I want us to bounce back from losing to Hamilton in midweek."

Falkirk will have technical director Alex Smith and coach Stevie Crawford in charge after manager Steven Pressley and Neil Macfarlane left for Coventry.

The Bairns have added defender Will Vaulks to their squad as Jonny Flynn is suspended and Dale Fulton misses out due to an ankle injury.

Smith said: "It has been a strange week as we have had the highs of beating Hamilton in the Scottish Cup and then getting a last-minute equaliser against Raith Rovers to the surpirse of Steven heading to Coventry.

"It is perhaps not ideal preparation for a trip to the league leaders but we won there earlier in the season and will look to do so again."
