Morton fans can breathe a sigh of relief, as the Greenock Telegraph reports that veteran forward Warren Hawke is currently not considering applying for the vacant managerial post at Berwick Rangers.
The Shielfield club haven't made a move for the Durham-born striker, who has also had spells with Queen of the South and Sunderland, and with Warren himself scotching rumours as to his interest in the job, it looks as if he'll be remaining at Cappielow for the forseeable future. In an interview with the "Tele", he points out that his professional circumstances are keeping him away from management; he works locally and is contracted to Morton only on a part-time basis. He also, however, stated that once his personal life allows him to, he may be interested in a managerial role once he hangs up his boots.
Hawke spent two seasons with Berwick Rangers, before departing Shielfield Park for Cappielow following a successful £100,000 bid for the player in 1995. He is currently in his second spell at Morton, re-joining in late 2001 from Queen of the South.
