A potentially grim weekend for Morton continues as the BBC report that Arbroath supremo Harry Cairney has virtualy a full squad to pick from to face Morton today at Gayfield. Only long-term casualties, such as the veteran midfield dynamo John McGlashan, are expected to be unable to take part. Granted, McGlashan is typically one of the best players at Arbroath, so his absence is significant, but an otherwise full-strength squad may be too much for a depleted Morton side to handle (see related article at the end of this post.)
On the other hand, Red Lichties Mad reports that, in addition to McGlashan, Alan Brazil is out with a cold. The BBC makes no mention of this, and also says that Morton have no new injury worries, despite the emergence of a knee ligament problem in Paul Walker, so we'll probably line up with Anton Smith and Ian Clinging tomorrow, whilst Arbroath will have Iain Diack and Jay Jay Okocha.
In other Morton-related news, Stuart McDonald and Chris McLeod, both ex-Morton players, are expected to start for Arbroath today in midfield and central defence respectively.
